Cruise

Thanks to Mom and Dad Wilson's generosity, we enjoyed a fabulous trip to the Mexican Riviera with the Wilson family. It was a blast! This was our ship, the Carnival Pride.

Our steward was very creative.

Micaela and Amanda.
The zipline in Puerto Vallarta was thrilling. I was a bit worried about this because I have a fear of heights, especially when I'm around the kids, but I wasn't afraid at all. We had some practice runs that helped us build up our confidence before the wild rides began.

Ben getting friendly with a scorpion.

Another species of scorpion.
Ben was very daring on this trip. He made a conscious effort to try foods he'd never eaten before, like oysters, calamari, lobster, etc.

Micaela and Jenna with a mischievous monkey who stole my sunglasses off my head.

Micaela and Amanda dancing on the boat after we were done snorkeling. Those of us who weren't drinking were doing the dancing and having the most fun.
I have always wanted to go snorkeling (It's been on my "life list" since I was sixteen.) but I was surprised by how much I loved it. It was one of the most calming and meditative activities that I have ever done. For the first time I felt I could claim my name, Yara, which means "queen of the fresh water." Even though the water was filled with small stinging jelly fish, I didn't want the experience to end.
