Once over the hill you pick up speed

Duff turns 50 on Wednesday, and since most of us will not be home that day, we had our traditional birthday cake this evening. He has insisted that the big screen TV was his Christmas/birthday/Father's Day present so it will be low-key, just like he likes it. Everyone should get just what they want for their birthday, right?
