I didn't pack for San Diego until the last minute because Micaela had gotten sick the last night of the play and I didn't want to leave her. She recovered just in time--at least, she
said she felt much better. Duff had been very patient and supportive of the last few weeks of rehearsals and performances and it was great to spend more time with him. One of the highlights was attending the San Diego Temple, which is stunning inside and out. There weren't very many people there--not even temple workers--and I became lost after the session. Finally--a patron arrived and showed me the way. We were a little worried when we got the front door and noticed we were locked in, but we saw someone outside who was able to direct us to a side exit.

Duff attended the Conference during the day and I entertained myself, which is easy for me to do. I went to a movie (My Sister's Keeper), I went swimming, I attended an awesome Tai Chi, Yoga and Pilates class and I went to La Jolla beach to see the tide pools. Some seals have taken over one of the beaches and caused quite a controversy there. Some want the seals to be moved and some want them to stay. I enjoyed watching them.

San Diego is a beautiful city and I wouldn't mind living there--if my family were there as well. I found a beautiful rose garden and practiced using my new camera.

One of my fondest memories of growing up in California was our frequent visits to L.A. to see our relatives. I loved catching glimpses of my favorite flower, the bougainvillea. I love it still.

I love the ocean--the smells, the sounds, the beauty.

The birds.

The trees.
