You Swam the Moat?

Micaela performed as a servant (and one of the failed princesses) in her junior high production of "Once Upon a Mattress," the story of the Princess and the Pea.

The time and effort required to put on a production is a little overwhelming at times.

But this time was harder than usual because of Micaela's other commitments with school, piano and violin.

I just had to drive her around and it was overwhelming to me.

Cassie was fabulous as Princess Winifred, the role Carol Burnett originated on Broadway. Cassie might have a future career as a comedian.

And this girl did a fabulous job, too.
I might be a little prejudiced, but I don't think so.

Our neighbor, Talia, played the wicked queen and the audience cheered when the tables were turned on her and she lost her voice at the end.

Princess Winifred on her twenty mattresses. (Micaela is on the far right.)

When it was over, there was the usual mixture of sadness and relief.

But for Micaela there hasn't been time to relax.

There was all-state choir.

 A fabulous experience.

And there was talent days, with many early morning rehearsals.

And many large school projects.

Once Suzuki Graduation, her Shakespeare play, Solos & Ensembles and a piano competition are over---

then Micaela can relax.
