Micaela learned from last year to make sure she has the right pedal and she played her recital piece beautifully. She confessed afterwards that she skipped a very difficult part and when I said I couldn't even tell I found out that she's been practicing it that way
at home! No wonder I couldn't tell.
When you get to a certain level, Micaela's teacher has her students learn a duet, along with their two recital pieces (If they are competing in Festival). Her teacher is on the other side of Micaela and, though she charges more than I like, it's obvious from the quality of playing at her recitals that she inspires excellence.
