Blessed Kin

Duff and Micaela and I went to see Merissa perform in concert on Friday night. She is a very talented singer/songwriter and did beautifully. I loved hearing the stories behind all songs. When I married her uncle she was about three years old and a couple of years later I got to tend her for a week. We had a great time making Christmas ornaments and cookies and I've had a special place in my heart for her ever since. It's been a privilege to watch her grow up into an exceptional young woman. When she came home from her mission I was amazed by her ability to access the Spirit. She's taken me to her yoga class, shared her homemade yogurt and carrot cookies, and been a great example of loving. When my nephew went to Anasazi (where she worked) she loved him like he was her own cousin. She is gifted at being able to see into others' hearts.
Her CD is available here or on itunes.

Karen swims in deep waters and she and Stan have been two of the most influential people in my life. Karen has invited each of the boys over when they completed their missions. She feeds us and then asks the returned missionary some "hard" questions, like "What have you learned about the Savior?" I have deeply appreciated all the laughs (and no one makes me laugh as much as Stan), the listening time, the acceptance, the wisdom.
